Tryanuary 2018 – we’re back and we have a nationwide team!
Tryanuary was set up by my good friend, Andy Heggs. Inspired also by Stuart Swann of Howard Town Brewery and Shane Swindells of Cheshire Brewhouse, the campaign, which kicked off in 2015 has run brilliantly over three very successful years.
Created to help support independent businesses during an historically quiet month for trade, Tryanuary aims to inspire people to get out and find new beers and new places to buy them. Since 2015, Andy has done an incredible job of single-handedly rousing the industry into backing this fantastic initiative.
As announced on 7th November, it is a great honour to have been passed the mantle on this campaign and to help grow this fantastic movement, we have some really exciting developments for 2018. The ethos of aiming to inspire people to support local breweries, pubs, bars, bottle shops and other retailers, will always remain the same. However, the most notable difference this year is that the campaign is being driven by an incredible team of over sixty volunteers. And the team is still growing! If you’re passionate about beer in your area, please get involved.
Our nationwide team of volunteers (referred to as local champions) will be taking over this website, our Instagram and our Facebook. This is a completely new approach for Tryanuary, so please follow and support. The team are currently working hard behind the scenes to bring you new beers, tap takeovers, beer walks, beer and food pairings, special offers and more. If you are a business taking part in the campaign, please get in touch with your local champion who will gladly help promote you through the network.
